Who We Are
A Brief History of Weaver Publications
.
It all began with The Conventioneer.

In July 1986, Teri and Peter Koclanes purchased the only existing guide to Denver for convention attendees. In January 1987, they incorporated Weaver Publications to expand into other segments of the travel and tourism publishing industry.

Through the 1990s, Weaver became the official publisher for the Colorado Tourism Board, the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce, Colorado Ski Country USA, the Vail Valley Marketing Board, the Denver Metro Convention & Visitors Bureau and others.

In January 1993, Weaver first expanded beyond Colorado by contracting to publish the Official Visitors Guide for the San Diego Convention & Visitors Bureau. Weaver Pacific Publications, Inc., now publishes a family of books for the Bureau.

The success of the San Diego relationship led to Weaver opening two new markets in 1997: one in Las Vegas, with the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, and one in New Orleans, for the New Orleans Metropolitan Convention and Visitors Bureau, Inc. The San Francisco Convention & Visitors Bureau selected Weaver as its official publisher in 1999. Also in 1999, Weaver took the next step into independent publishing with Incredible Colorado.

Weaver publications consistently win awards for design and innovation, no matter what market they showcase. The team at Weaver is recognized throughout the industry as the leader in publishing official city tourism guides, and sets standards of excellence for convention bureaus and publishers across the country.
